Friday Roundup: Secret Courts and Public Protest
On September 2nd, 2016 in Quibbles
Hey y’all, let’s make this quick, I am vaction. And vacation means you get to pretend you’re Twitter and ignore every terrible thing that comes your way.
Terrible realities like secret super courts which allow corporations to bully nation states around the world.
Or rapists getting released from their non-sentences early for good behavior.
I know I’m at least a little sorry an asteroid missed Earth this week.
But, if they want to lodge their complaints, Microsoft is all ears
So is Facebook, actually, since it’s taking all of you Whatsapp’s data after all.
If you don’t like it when people sit during the national anthem, you’re going to hate it when you find out about police brutality.

Facebook also fired all its trending editors, and things instantly got weird.
Twitter also got weird, with a patently false tweet from the Associated Press.
The entire country got weird over Kaepernick’s decision to not stand during the national anthem, and we all need to take a seat.
If you end up in a heated email chain about it, just remember to remove yourself quietly.
Happy weekend. Enjoy the down time and turn that frown upside down. Or don’t. It doesn’t matter.
